Fifi’s Friends Rescue at Laughing Dog Farm is a small no kill dog rescue and 501(c)(3) non-profit located outside of picturesque mountain-town of Bakersville, NC. We are dedicated to rescuing and providing a safe haven for dogs in need, and finding them loving forever homes. Our passion for animals drives us to create a nurturing environment where every dog receives the care and attention they deserve. SERVICES
ADOPTION PROCESS
Our adoption process is designed to find the best match between each dog and their potential new family. We carefully assess the needs and characteristics of both the dog and the adopter to ensure a successful and lasting placement.
VETERINARY CARE
Upon rescue, each dog receives a thorough veterinary examination, vaccinations, and any necessary medical treatment. We are committed to ensuring that every dog in our care is in good health and receives the medical attention they need.
BEHAVIORAL TRAINING
We work with each dog to address behavioral issues and provide training to help them become well-adjusted pets. Our dedicated team focuses on positive reinforcement and patience to help the dogs overcome any challenges.
FOSTER PROGRAM
Our foster program provides a temporary home for dogs in transition, giving them the opportunity to experience life in a loving home environment while awaiting their forever family. Foster families play a crucial role in the rehabilitation and socialization of these dogs.
EVENTS & FUNDRAISING
Participate in our events and fundraising initiatives to support our rescue efforts. Your involvement helps us continue our mission of saving and improving the lives of dogs in need.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
We engage with the community to raise awareness about responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying and neutering, and the benefits of adopting a rescue dog. Through education and outreach, we strive to create a more compassionate society for animals.
ADVOCACY
We advocate for animal welfare and promote legislation that protects the rights and well-being of animals. Join us in being a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Fifi’s Friends Rescue at Laughing Dog Farms has been formed as refuge and haven for broken, lost, surrendered, found, doomed-to-die dogs, who are transformed into beautiful and healthy souls, who for often for the first time ever, learn what it is to just – be a dog, and all the love-lavishin’, funny, sweet, playful, charming, and loyal kinship that comes along with it!!
Once a dog reaches LDF, they are indeed safe. They are fostered here or sometimes in a foster home, and vetted to be put up for adoption. Some of our dogs are transported to no kill rescues in the North.
Our team is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of these animals, and we welcome the support and involvement of our community. Together, we can create a brighter future for rescued dogs.

Our Founder
My personal mission is to take the abandoned, neglected, & unwanted dogs and provide a safe, nurturing environment. All the while providing any vet needs and preventative care.
The dogs learn its okay to be a dog and that they are safe, cared for, and loved. Operating a dog rescue allows the dogs time to heal physically and often emotionally as well. They are shown love, compassion, and patience while searching for their perfect family.
Love is not only therapy for the dogs, but humans as well. There is no greater reward than to see a dog transform from the feelings of uncertainty, to bliss in a happy home all their own.
